From Business Analytics Training to Project Coordinator: Anusha’s Success Story
Let’s hear from Anusha as she shares how Business Analytics training at SKILLOGIC helped her strengthen her technical skills, prepare for interviews, and secure a job offer for a Project Coordinator role.
Q1: Could you please introduce yourself and tell us about your professional background?
Anusha: My name is Anusha, and I have completed my Business Analytics course at SKILLOGIC. Before receiving this job offer, I worked as a Program Analyst at Cognizant Technology Solutions. Recently, I attended an interview for a Project Coordinator role and successfully got selected.
Q2: How was your experience with the Business Analytics training?
Anusha: Initially, I was working as a Program Analyst, where my responsibilities included development-related tasks. After about a year, I started working more closely with different teams, including the Quality Assurance and Development teams. I had to coordinate with them, track project progress, and follow up on various tasks.
At first, I was doing most of this work manually because I wasn't familiar with advanced Excel functions. During the Business Analytics course, I learned useful techniques such as VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP, which helped me understand how to manage and analyse data more efficiently. I was able to apply what I learned during the course to my interview preparation.
Q3: What skills are essential for Business Analyst and Project Coordinator roles?
Anusha: I believe communication and listening skills are extremely important. Companies want to know how actively you listen, how carefully you understand requirements, and how much attention you pay to details.
Many candidates, especially freshers, may not have extensive technical knowledge when they begin their careers. Therefore, employers also look at soft skills, communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work with different teams. These skills make a difference when handling project responsibilities and coordinating with stakeholders.
Q4: Could you explain the interview process for your Project Coordinator role?
Anusha: I went through a total of 5 interview rounds. The first round was mainly an introductory discussion. The interviewer asked about my professional experience, my background, and the tools I had worked with.
The second and third rounds focused more on technical knowledge and practical scenarios. I was asked problem-solving questions and questions about coordinating with stakeholders and development teams. They wanted to understand how I would prioritise tasks, manage delays, and handle problems during a project.
There were also questions about Excel, including VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP, data visualisation, chart preparation, and Power BI. The interviews covered both technical knowledge and how I would approach real workplace situations.
Q5: Were you asked to complete any practical tasks during the interviews?
Anusha: I wasn't asked to complete a separate practical assignment. Instead, the interviewers presented different scenarios and asked me how I would approach each task and which tools or methods I would use to solve the problem. These questions helped them understand my thought process and problem-solving abilities.
Q6: How Did Your Experience Help You Prepare for the Role?
Anusha: My previous experience involved both development-related work and coordination responsibilities. I had to collaborate with different teams, follow up on tasks, and monitor project progress. This experience helped me understand how teams work together and how important communication and coordination are to completing projects successfully.
I believe this background was useful during the interview because I could relate the questions to situations I had already encountered at work.
Q7: Are you exploring other job opportunities?
Anusha: Yes, definitely. Although I have received this job offer, I would like to attend more interviews and explore other opportunities. I am looking for a better salary package and a role that aligns with my career goals. I plan to compare the opportunities available and choose the one that suits me best.
Q8: Is your new job based in Bangalore or Hyderabad?
Anusha: My new job is based in Hyderabad. I also completed my programme in Hyderabad.
Q9: Will you be working from home or travelling to the office?
Anusha: It is a work-from-office position. The office is approximately 80 kilometres from where I live, so travelling will be a part of my routine. However, traffic is common in many places, so I am prepared to manage the commute.
Q10: Are you planning further Business Analytics training?
Anusha: Yes, definitely. SKILLOGIC also offers an Advanced Business Analytics course, and I am interested in pursuing it. I want to improve my knowledge of Business Analytics because I am particularly interested in communication, requirement gathering, and related responsibilities. I would like to continue learning and develop the skills needed to progress in this field.
Q11: What are your future career goals in Business Analytics?
Anusha: I want to continue improving my Business Analytics knowledge and develop my communication, requirement-gathering, and coordination skills. I am interested in understanding business needs and working with different teams to achieve project goals. Pursuing advanced training and gaining more professional experience will help me work towards these goals.
Q12: What would you like to say about your learning experience and future plans?
Anusha: My learning experience helped me understand how to apply technical concepts to practical workplace situations and interview questions. I realised that technical knowledge alone is not enough; communication, active listening, problem-solving, and attention to detail are equally important. I would like to keep improving my skills, explore better career opportunities, and continue learning through advanced Business Analytics training.
